This family history continues with the 1870's and 1880's with census, land, marriage and death records. Photos include those of Nathan P. Lawrence County 1826 Tax List, by Kathy Niedergeses

This very valuable list of early County Tax Payers was transcribed from the original handwritten list at the Tennessee State Library & Archives. A copy of the original is at the Lawrence County Archives.

The author attributes the rarity of obituaries in the 1800's and early 1900's to the cost associated with their publication.

The students standing in front of the Crockett School are unidentified. The date of the photo is no later than 1927, as the school burned that year.

The author explains a poll tax and its value as a document in genealogical research.

This article, used with permission of Dr. Jones, Victoria, TX, gives valuable information on obtaining military data for ancestors, particularly those associated with World War I.
